Sky High Car Audio Subwoofer Motor Supports
Strength Where It Matters. Support Where You Need It.
Sky High Car Audio Motor Supports are finally here. Designed to reduce baffle flex, stabilize heavy subwoofer motors, and improve long-term enclosure durability, these supports offer a clean and effective solution for serious high-power builds.
Manufactured from 6061 aluminum, each support is laser cut and CNC finished for precision fitment and strength. The aluminum construction keeps the supports lightweight and completely non-magnetic, ensuring they won’t interfere with the subwoofer motor structure while still providing the rigidity needed to reinforce large, high-excursion drivers.
Motor supports are available for the following Sky High subwoofer series:
- BMX Series – 10” through 18”
- FMX Series – 12” through 18”
- FXXL Series – 12” through 24” (not compatible with 33”)
These supports are designed to work with the threaded backplate mounting holes found on these models, allowing for a secure attachment point directly to the motor structure.
Versatile Installation Options
One of the biggest goals behind the SHCA Motor Supports was to create a strong, adjustable support system without requiring welding or complex fabrication. These supports are compatible with the Sky High Heim Joint Pair (sold separately), which includes everything needed to complete the connection:
- Tube bung
- Misalignment spacers
- Lock nuts
- Right-hand and left-hand threaded heims
The heim joints accept 1” ID tubing with a 1/4” wall (1.5” OD .250 wall), creating a strong and adjustable support arm. Because the heims use opposing thread directions, adjustments can be made quickly without removing the assembly, making installation and fine tuning simple.
Motor-to-Box or Motor-to-Motor Support
The SHCA Motor Supports were designed with maximum versatility in mind. They can be used in several configurations depending on the enclosure design:
- Motor-to-box support – Reinforces the subwoofer motor by tying it directly into the enclosure structure.
- Motor-to-motor support – Connect multiple subwoofers together to stabilize heavy motors in large wall builds.
- Direct enclosure reinforcement – Can also be mounted directly to the enclosure itself to reduce baffle flex.
Whether you’re building a daily demo setup, a large multi-sub wall, or a competition enclosure, these supports help keep everything rigid and controlled when the bass gets serious.
Why Use Motor Supports?
Large subwoofers produce extreme mechanical force during operation. Without proper reinforcement, that force can cause:
- Baffle flex
- Motor movement
- Enclosure fatigue over time
SHCA Motor Supports help distribute that load, keeping the subwoofer aligned and the enclosure structure solid even under extreme output.
